DiamondGlow and HydraFacial have often competed as similar skin rejuvenating treatments, but there are several reasons why we rely on DiamondGlow at Forever Young MedSpa. Learn more about this customizable treatment and see why you should consider DiamondGlow on your next visit to our office.
What is DiamondGlow?
DiamondGlow combines dermabrasion with deep exfoliation and serum infusion to target a variety of skin conditions at different depths. DiamondGlow has earned its name because it uses a diamond-tipped wand to exfoliate the skin and remove dead skin cells, dirt, and other surface impurities. The advanced, FDA-approved DiamondGlow wand also infuses the skin with customized SkinMedica serums designed to target skin conditions like hyperpigmentation (skin discoloration), fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and more.
What is HydraFacial?
HydraFacial is a hydrating facial treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, and hydrates the skin. A peel with glycolic and salicylic acid is also applied to the skin for additional exfoliation. The HydraFacial wand is used for all three steps of the treatment process. A cooling jet of water combined with vortex vacuuming energy cleans out clogged pores and infuses the skin with serums rich in hydrating hyaluronic acid and nourishing antioxidants.
DiamondGlow vs. HydraFacial
DiamondGlow and HydraFacial sound very similar, but there are a few key differences in how they function and what they can accomplish. One of the main differences between DiamondGlow and HydraFacial is that the DiamondGlow procedure uses manual exfoliation while HydraFacial uses chemical exfoliation. HydraFacial is also a more superficial treatment and has a gentler approach to maintaining skin health rather than actively correcting issues. While HydraFacial is mainly used to hydrate and deeply cleanse the skin, DiamondGlow has a more intensive exfoliation process that smooths and brightens the skin.
Benefits of DiamondGlow
There are many unique advantages to the DiamondGlow facial. With more versatile technology focused on skin healing and correction, we are pleased to offer DiamondGlow to our patients. You can expect the following benefits and more from your customized treatment:
While the HydraFacial is great for maintaining beautiful skin, the DiamondGlow facial can correct a variety of skin conditions. DiamondGlow clears out clogged pores and infuses serums deep into the skin to soothe sensitive skin and treat active acne. Acne scars, hyperpigmentation, rough skin texture, and sun damage can also be corrected with DiamondGlow treatments.
Safe for All Skin Types
DiamondGlow does not use any harsh chemicals and is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment, making it safe for all skin types. It even has specialized serums for acneic and sensitive skin. DiamondGlow can also safely treat all skin tones, making this a great facial treatment for most of our patients.
DiamondGlow stimulates collagen production and increases blood flow to encourage healthier, more youthful-looking skin. Collagen is a protein naturally produced in the body and it gives the skin elasticity and volume. Natural skin aging slows collagen production, leading to wrinkles and sagging skin. DiamondGlow combats these effects with long-lasting improvements that set back the aging process. It also has a mild tightening effect that is not accomplished with the HydraFacial treatment.
Precision During Treatment
Manual exfoliation with the DiamondGlow wand allows your aesthetician to target different areas of the face more precisely. The device also comes with different-sized diamond tips, making it suitable for all areas of the face, including the sensitive nooks and crannies around the eyes and mouth.
Results and Recovery from DiamondGlow
An additional benefit of DiamondGlow is that there is no downtime. Mild skin redness is common, but patients can immediately return to work and other daily activities. This temporary redness only lasts about 30 minutes so you can also receive DiamondGlow to refresh your skin before a big event. Most patients will see significant improvements in their skin after one treatment, but 3-6 treatments are often recommended for optimal results.
