This is the latest version of the famous Sciton BBL. HERO stands for “High Energy Rapid Output”. The HERO technology leads to faster, safer, and more effective treatments. Energy levels can be 4 times that of the previous BBL but with increased cooling mechanisms, the treatment is just as safe. The treatments are performed differently than the prior BBL. The handpiece is in constant motion with the handpiece firing repeatedly (vs the stamping mode). This HERO technology allows for much shorter treatment times – 5 minutes for a face, 3 minutes for the chest. The HERO technology advancements lead to achieving desired results with less treatments.

About the BBL Hero Treatment

Treatments are not considered painful, particularly with the new HERO technology. No numbing topicals are needed. There is immediate darkening of the pigmentation which gradually forms a “coffee ground” appearance in a couple days. The “coffee grounds” gradually fall off fully by day 5 on the face. On other areas, the flaking can take up to 10-14 days. Repeated treatments are usually needed to optimal results. There is no downtime with BBL, with redness subsiding within minutes to hours. Sun protection is a must for the next 2 weeks at least.

There are studies to show that with repeat yearly treatments, the DNA in the skin cells can be altered to represent a younger DNA profile. The BBL can actually reverse the aging process in the treated area. This is why one of the handpieces is called “Forever Young” BBL

Frequently Asked Questions

How does BBL Hero work?

BBL Hero works by delivering intense pulses of light to the skin’s surface. These pulses penetrate the skin’s layers and heat the tissue, triggering a healing response and promoting the production of collagen and elastin. By increasing this production, the treatment can address hyperpigmentation, visible signs of aging, sun damage, and more.

What skin concerns can BBL Hero address?

BBL Hero can address sun spots, sun damage, redness, acne, fine lines and wrinkles, and more.

Is BBL Hero painful?

While you may feel a slight snapping sensation, the BBL Hero treatment is generally well tolerated by patients, and no numbing cream or anesthetic is necessary.

How many sessions of BBL Hero are required for the best results?

Just one or two BBL Hero treatment sessions are typically needed to achieve optimal results, but multiple sessions spaced throughout the year may be needed to address specific skin concerns and maintain your results.

Is there downtime after BBL Hero?

No, there is no downtime after BBL Hero treatment. You can return to your normal routine and activities immediately.

What should I do before BBL Hero?

For four weeks prior to your BBL Hero treatment, you’ll want to avoid excess sun exposure, as well as tanning beds. You’ll also want to stop using retinol products as they can increase the risk of discoloration. Before your appointment, make sure your skin is free of makeup or perfume and completely clean.

What should I do after BBL Hero?

If you experience redness or swelling after the treatment, you can use an ice pack. Darkening of specific skin spots may occur, but these will naturally flake off over time. Refrain from picking at them. For three days post-treatment, avoid vigorous exercise, and during the healing process, steer clear of potential skin irritants such as exfoliants, shaving, and extreme temperatures in water.

Who is a candidate for BBL Hero?

Ideal candidates for BBL Hero treatment are individuals seeking a more youthful or clearer complexion and those who possess realistic expectations and a positive perspective.

How long do the results of BBL Hero last?

Results from BBL Hero treatment typically last a year. Maintenance treatments are usually needed to keep your skin looking its best.
